Appendix

Pôvodne sme detaily o tom, čo bolo hlavným dôvodom prečo sme nedoplávali až do Indie, zverejňovať nechceli. Odišiel z lode nadobro, všetko sa vraj vrátilo do starých koľají. Ale ani potom sa evidentne nič nezlepšilo a Fred má hlavne problém sám zo sebou. Nakoniec ho Lars musel spolu s Grete z lode vyhodit. "The Maldives again.
We have now left the Maldives for Sri Lanka after a very good visit to Chagos atolls south of the equator and cruised one week up the Maldives chain of atolls. As nice as the atolls have been in Chagos and in the Maldives, we didn’t have a happy ship the last couples of weeks. During my 21 years of sailing with paying crew I only once (until now) had to ask a crewmember to leave the boat. This was 1993 in Panama when a German man who were to sail from Panama to Tahiti refused to do his night watches. He proposed that we anchor every night on the Pacific Ocean! Needless to say, after giving him the choice to do his part of the sailing or leave the boat, he still refused so we turned around, went back to Panama and put him ashore. Furthermore, during the 2 days he was onboard he had managed to annoy every crew member onboard. To have continued with him would have meant an unhappy ship.

Now 17 years later the situation repeated itself. One couple (F&G) had been onboard since late May this year and had planned to participate all 3 years around the world. Almost from the start F and a young couple in the crew did not get along and when my American friend since long came onboard the situation slowly deteriorated. F&G had sailed with me already in 2008 to Libya but after that summer 4 people stated that they would not return as long as F was onboard. Summer 2009 F&G wanted to join on the Danube cruise and I decided to try it out. It worked reasonable well, but when sailed in the Med 3 people expressed the same feelings, i e they would not return as long as F was onboard (no one ever complained over G, most felt sorry for her). This summer and fall 3 people left the boat before they had planned and the 3 crew onboard to/from Chagos would have left if F had remained onboard.
